Maps (CTF,
DM, vCTF, WAR )Skins Mods & Mutators Patches & Bonus Packs UT3 is as fussy as UT2004 (but in a different way) and you must download and install the skins which are available here in order to play effectively on the DvT server. If you do not have the skins installed, UT3 not download the skins to you and will let you join the server and play. However, players or bots using any of the customs skins will be invisible to you. |

Installing MapsWhere UT3 map files go is simplier than in UT2004 once you become familar with it. However, it is harder to explain when you are not familar with the new folder structures that UT3 uses. CLICK HERE for a detailed explanation of where things go. However, this UT3 remake is too pretty to pass up and not share. This version also enhances the original by adding some new features that make playing it fresh and new. |

| Custom Characters (skins) | The stock characters in UT3, IMO, are hard to tell apart...the armor/clothing does not give good visual clues of who you are looking at. If you know of well done custom characters that have truly distinctive

added 2/19/08 For some reason Epic thinks that 'desaturating' the color of most UT3 maps by about 30% is a good idea...perhaps the reasoning is that the grayer look gives more of a "warzone" feel. Well...the maps are a lot prettier without the desaturation and this mod restores the color. "The mutator does not magically color the textures or create color where none previously existed... it only 'removes the removal' of color." Highly recommended. If you don't have it installed, the DvT server will download it to you (at only 3KB, this is fast). |

New 6/7/08 This tool adds the missing protocol function of UT3. When websites, IRC, or shortcuts linked to ut2004://ip.address.here:port, UT2004 was launched, connecting immediately to the Server which was specified in the url. With this fix, the same function comes back for ut3! So you can make use of the ut3:// protocol, with the same functionality of the ut2004 ones.Click here for info on installing and using it. |

New 6/3/08 The third patch for UT3 (version 1.3) is now in "private Beta." This means that the patch is not yet available to us but the change/fix list has been made public. Click here for the change/fix list. This list may be modified by the time the patch is released but now we know that 1.3 is getting close and what they are doing with it.
